Rebecca has been a falconer since 1993, a lifestyle choice that led to a professional life training and presenting free flight bird shows and ultimately into a career in development (conservation fundraising). Rebecca is passionate about conservation and currently a Director of Development for Ducks Unlimited. Operation Delta Duck is the newest incarnation of a blog that has been ongoing since 2003. The archives are at Operation Desert Dove.
Rebecca is also an author of nine books. Falconry and the human/animal relationship are central themes in her writing. Her falconry is chronicled in LIFT, a memoir pending publication from Red Hen Press in late 2009.
She shares her Northern California home with Anakin, a peregrine falcon; Sister, a gyr/peregrine falcon; Booth, a Brittany adopted through American Brittany Rescue; and Tempest in a Teapot (Tempe) from Wild Moutain Brittanys.
